With another major winter storm approaching the Northeast both Aqueduct and Laurel Park canceled their live racing cards for Wednesday. Laurel also canceled Thursday's card.

Be back with some Gulfstream and Santa Anita winners shortly!

#1 Another Success- This sprint is over loaded with very fast need the lead type to win. This one, won twice in starter allowance company and was second and third 7 times. He comes from behind with the patient Leparoux taking the mount. He will blow by his tiring rivals late to get all the money.

Battagliaspicks 5-1

#5 Lucy Got Lucky- in what looks like a match race between these two #1 went right to the lead in her only start but got caught right on the wire. She removes the blinkers and will be the one to catch. #5 was claimed from a very low percentage barn by 27% winner Canani and is coming off 2 straight seconds. They should run 1-2 all day long.

Santa Anita Race #7

#9 Cigar Man - Fair odds 2/1
#5 Deal Breaker - Fair odds 2/1

Exactas: 9 over 4,5,6,8 and 4,5,6,8 over 9 then also 5 over 4,6,8,9 and 4,6,8,9 over 5
4 is Feisty Suances, 6 is Calimonco, 8 is Mythical Power

Cigar Man already won at the nw2x allowance condition so is in for the optional $80K claiming price today, his win last August at this mile trip at the level a winning race if repeated, with his recent 58.6 five furlong drill coming into the race a signal that is exactly what is going to occur, particularly with Rosario choosing him to ride over both Nericon King and Mythical Power. Deal Breaker won at this level last out on 12/30 so is in for the tag, the win coming under Bejarano, who rides back, over the track he’s now a perfect 2-for-2 over, so he too would be no surprise if victorious.

Handicapped by The Walker Group at Santa Anita

Race 8 - Claiming - 6.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $13000 Class Rating: 96

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

# 4 RUNFORTHEROSESDAN 6/1
# 6 ARM CHAIR Q B 15/1
# 5 PACIFIC HALO 30/1

RUNFORTHEROSESDAN seems to be the wager in here. In fine fettle, and coming back soon again this time around. Looks respectable versus this group and will almost certainly be one of the leaders. ARM CHAIR Q B - Medina will almost certainly be able to get this gelding to break out quickly in this competition. Could beat this group given the 89 speed rating recorded in his last outing.

Gulfstream - Race #1 - Post: 1:15pm - Maiden Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $22000 Class Rating: 76

Choice Plays:

#6 CHAIRMAN TUCKER (ML=5/1)
#8 RICHIE RULES (ML=5/2)

CHAIRMAN TUCKER - The jockey and trainer combination have a profitable return on investment when they team up. RICHIE RULES - This colt has been working out well, and the recent bullet work says he's primed for a top effort today. Have to give this colt a good chance. Ran a solid contest in the last race within the last month. I have to like this colt's chances of winning at the shorter distance. Trying to win for the first time moving from a grass race to the main track. I think DiMauro will have him in good shape for today's affair. The 72 last race speed rating looks mighty good in the TrackMaster PPs.

Vulnerable Contenders: #9 FULL LIQUIDITY (ML=4/1), #2 BASIN STREET (ML=6/1), #1 ORIENTATION (ML=6/1),

FULL LIQUIDITY - That was just not a very good showing in the last event. BASIN STREET - This thoroughbred just hasn't looked sharp lately. ORIENTATION - Hasn't been close to winning at all of late. This colt hasn't had any recent success in sprint contests. No picnic to play him in this contest.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#6 CHAIRMAN TUCKER to win at post-time odds of 5/2 or better

EXACTA WAGERS:
Box [6,8]

Santa Anita Race 3 for Wednesday, February 10, 2010
Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts

Santa Anita - Race #3 - Post: 2:03pm - Claiming - 6.5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $25000 Class Rating: 102

Choice Plays:

#12 BONFANTE (ML=8/1)
#1 VALID MECKE (ML=4/1)
#4 PACK YOUR BAGS (ML=10/1)
#10 CROSSING THE LINE (NZ) (ML=6/1)

BONFANTE - Gelding is a few starts into a return to racing here. Should give a big race today. When I handicap a race on the turf, I think sometimes class ratings are more important than speed figs. This beautiful animal has the highest average class in the entire bunch. Just see his most recent speed fig, 101. That one fits well in this group. While the finish was disappointing, this beautiful animal made a good stretch move last out at Santa Anita. Should do much better in this race. VALID MECKE - This gelding runs very well off of a vacation. Horses out of the barn of Mitchell have been strong on the grass. I'd calculate a good performance. I can't ignore the fact that this gelding is working extremely well. Came home fast in the last race at Hollywood Park. That type of move bodes well for his chances right here. PACK YOUR BAGS - Lets try to beat the favorites with this gelding. Just missed last out, but ran a respectable race. CROSSING THE LINE (NZ) - This gelding is in good physical condition, having run a strong race on January 17th, finishing fifth. I usually like playing sprinters who are 3-4 races into a return to racing. Tyler Baze was aboard this gelding last out and was impressed enough to take the equine right back. This horse brings in a lot of money per start. I believe he can add to the lifetime bankroll in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #13 ALL MAN (ML=5/2), #5 WITHIN REASON (ML=3/1), #7 SPIRIT OF COCHISE (ML=6/1),

ALL MAN - 110/101/95, are the declining Equibase speed figs for this questionable contender. Can't play this entrant in today's sprint of 6 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even hit the board in a sprint race of late. Don't feel this entrant will do much running in today's event. That last speed rating was run-of-the-mill when compared with today's class rating. WITHIN REASON - Should have at least hit the board in the last 60 days in a sprint affair to be worth the risk at short odds in a sprint. This pony hasn't been coming close at the finish recently. SPIRIT OF COCHISE - This gelding hasn't had any strong efforts in short distance events in the last two months. Won't be easy for this mount to beat this field off of that last speed rating. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the questionable challengers list.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - BONFANTE - The odds should be right to bet on this beautiful animal. There are some 'hidden' pluses in the last event.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Putting our cash on #12 BONFANTE to win. Have to have odds of at least 4/1 or better though
