New England over NY GIANTS by 7

You knew we’d be here and you were right. The Pats’ quest for
perfection was ruined by the Giants in SBXLII and their chance at
redemption is now here. Our database reminds us that defending
Super Bowl champions are just 18-26-2 ATS at home during the preseason,
including 3-7 SU and 2-8 ATS in Game Fours. Bill Belichick’s
8-4-4 ATS mark on the pre-season road with the Pats (check result at
Tampa on 8/17) fi ts nicely into Big Blue’s 8-14 SU and ATS mark in Game
Fours against AFC clubs. Rest assured, Belichick will be ordering up as
much video on the Giants as he can get his hands on. And One!

Denver over ARIZONA by 6

Couldn’t draw the fi nal curtain on the pre-season without asking
one of our favorite coaches, Mike Shanahan, to take a bow. After all,
Shanahan resides among the Top 5 coaches who play to win during
the pre-season. That’s evidenced by his 40-24 straight-up career mark
entering this year, including 32-15 SU and 29-17-1 ATS against NFC
opposition (15-7 SU and ATS away). Entering a ‘mission season’ in
2008, we expect the Broncos to play balls to the wall from the start
of the campaign through the fi nish. Look for Denver to improve to
9-0 SU and ATS in Game Fours here in the desert tonight.
