Cleveland plays round ball with Houston tonight in Texas, but I don't think the Ole Texas Star will be shinning, and there may be a slight tear in the Eyes of Texas at games end.
The Cavs are playing their best basketball of the season, and believe it or not I think they are for real. Tonights game will be a good test of that reality. L James is the youngest player in NBA history to score 1000 pts. It is a fact that this young man is for real, and will definitely be an NBA superstar if he strays healthy in future years. Ilgauskas is playing well, Boozer is hitting the hole and Williams was an ideal addition to a team that is actually talking playoffs in a year where most considered them dead meat.
Houston beat the Cavs in Cleveland on Dec. 17, 89-85, But the key in that game was that the Cavs had the lead 78-71 with 5:31 remaining in the game. Cavs had the edge on the glass. They both had 20 in the paint, and Houston bested them 10-5 on the fast break.
The Cavs come in on one days rest after a home win against J Mashburn and a decent New Orleans team, winning 104-100. The only downside is that game may have been a gruelling affair. I did not see it.
Houston comes to the court with no days rest after a 9 pt. loss to San Antonio 86-77 in San Antonio which ain't too far down the road.
I like the Cavs to cover the +6 and I haven't had a chance of late to go to the sportsbooks, but I think Olympic had them at +230 money line. I will be placing an equal amount on both, and I think the Cavs have a realistic chance of winning this in a close game against Mobley, Ming and the boys. These are my opinions, may or may not be worth a crap, so don't run to get your check book on this one, only if you feel my "PASSION".
