Very bizarre race, they are coming down the stretch and the leader all of a sudden bolts across the track. I haven't seen that in years...

#6 didn't hit the board, and wasn't even in the race.

The winner was the fav at 5/2 followed by a 20-1 shot....

So we start the night off down $20......

Meadowland Race #2

We got pinched at Meadowlands in the first 1/8, and the horse got placed well back 7th at the 1/2. When it came time to roll, he was wide, and couldn't sustain the drive. This happens and is part of racing, even Roger Clemens has bad days.

So we stand at -60

I am looking for a price here at Charlestown in the 3rd. The problem is this, and take it for what it is worth. It's a 4 1/2 furlong race, so speedsters have a big advantage, outside posts have problems winning with this distance and a 10 post to boot.

To me we get a price for going against all the factors.

Let's go with #10 Love a lot at good odds, and I would bet 10WPS in a rare show bet for me.

We are down now, and yes it's early, this is the way racing goes my friends.

We were in the race until the top of the stretch, the 10 was in 2nd, and blew the turn.

The bad thing is the winner, was the horse I was going to go with. I just couldn't see getting 8/5 on the horse.

We are down -90, that sounds like a lot, but in racing, a few winners puts you back in black.

I am not going to do any races at Penn National and will add Northfield to the mix, and that will be the next track.

Pick 3 time Freak!

Well FREAK isn't finding this to be interesting at this point. This is the big problem with handicapping horses, they can't talk back to you, so you go by the form and what you see.

We ran 3rd last race, my main concern is that the last two races I went against my top pick based on odds. I am not going to sit here and give out 5/2 and 8/5 type of horses all night. In the long run there is absolutely no value in betting this.

You have to bet horses based on value and comparisons. We have been close, but close doesn't put $$ in your account.

With that said I am on the pick 3 at Northfield

If we can get by the first race, I think this cashes.

We don't want the 5 to win this race, but it is there as it is the logical choice.

Freak hit the first leg of Pick 3 with the #5. Final order of finish was 5, 4, 1...He had all 3 horses called here.

it figures...lol

We win the first leg of the pick 3 with #5....

The finish was 5-4-1

The 5 went off at 1/2 and the 4 at 8/1

The problem with the Pick 3 now, is everyone and their brothers is alive with the 5. So there is no value. We are looking for a price in the middle leg. We absolutely want the #2 or #3 to win this race. The #1 is the big chalk.

So let's pull for #2 or #3 to win this race, and if we do, we are set for the final.... worst case is the #1 roars and we have chalk chalk, and we won't make $27 back......

Tough spot but anything is possible.

Well the 7th race was a good race. The 1 went off at 2/5, the 2 at 30-1 and the 3 at 8-1

The 2 finished 4th
The 1 finished 2nd
The 3 finished 1st and paid $18.80 to win !

So that gets us what we need to boost up the pick 3 price.

We have the 3-4-5 in the 8th

Ok here are the pick 3 payoffs:

3 wins it pays $121.20
4 wins it pays $150
5 wins it pays $190.40

The above price are based on a $2 ticket, so cut it in 1/2 and that is our payoff

So we are rooting for the 5 to bring it home. But will certainly take the 3 or 4 as well.

The danger to crash our ticket is #2.....

I am not saying to bet it at all, but he looms to be the danger.

We lost the pick 3 at the wire..... final finish 6-4-2
