Latest update is Holy Thunder out of the Spiral and Derby due to a nagging foot bruise.

As far as the derby is concerned, who does everyone like?

Lets get some Derby talk going on in here. It's right around the corner. As of today I am backing a real longshot Invisible Ink. This horse should love the added distance. I can see this long striding horse laying them down coming down the stretch. With that said I'm sure he now will finish 14th 20 lenghts behind.

Who does everyone else like?

Teemu12, Invisible Ink clocked a real fast time in the warmups Sunday. Could be there in the end. The Baffert horses, Point Given and Congaree look to be the favs. I saw Point Given at the Santa Anita Derby and the horse looked like the sure thing. My longshot(25-1)is A.P. Valentine trained by Zito. We'll see Saturday.

I think Point Given is the real deal this year. Is there any reason not to like this horse? Comes into the race fresh, ran two great prep races, Baffert trainer, Stevens jockey? distance no factor. The only thing I see is he will be the favorite and in past history, favorites don't do so well in the Kentucky Derby. He'll have my $2 to win.

*Top 2 faves hit the board four times in 15 years.

*Top 3 faves have all run out 5 times in 15 years.

I like AP Valentine and Jamaican Rum. AP Valentine on his best day can run with the best of them and with an abundance of speed horses lining up for the race, a closer like Jamaican Rum could benefit if the early fractions are insane. Could be an interesting longshot.
