San Franciso +120 (Rueter) Over San Diego (Lawrence)
Lawrence:
Spring Training 1-3 10.64 ERA (26 ER's in 22.0 innings and 49 Hits Allowed) Lawrence Career vs. SF 0-3 4.34 Era (50 Er's in 18 Er's in 37.1 innings) Larrence vs. Top of SF Lineup: Durham 4/13 .308 Snow 4/14 .286 Tucker 4/5 .800 Bonds 8/16 .500
Rueter vs. SD Lifetime: 11-2 3.29 Era (50 Er's in 136.2 Innings) .257 Averaged Allowed. Lifetime Record vs. SD Hitters: Burroughs 2-16 .125 Loretta 6-26 .231 Giles 2-21 .095 Nevin 9-45 .375 Klesko 6-30 .200 Greene 2-4 .500 Payton 6-16 .375 Hernandez 3-14 .214 Vazquez 1-4 .250
-------------------------------------------------------
Cleveland (Sabathia) +106 Over Kansas City (Anderson)
Sabathia 7-4 with 3.19 Era .248 Average Allowed vs. KC Lifetime. Sabathia allowed just 2 hits in 7 innings and .095 Average in 1st Start this Season.
Anderson vs. Cleveland 2-0 but only 11 Er's in 18.1 innings 5.40 Era and .265 Average. Anderson Spring Training: 0-2 6.75 Era (15 Er's/20 innings, 27 hits allowed)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Colorado(Stark)/Los Angeles (Nomo) Over 7.5 (Would buy 1/2 run to make it 7)
Stark Spring Training 0-2 12.12 Era (22 Er's in 16 innings and 29 hits) Stark 3-1 3.37 Era Lifetime vs. LA
Nomo Spring Training 1-4 8.13 Era (25 Er's in 27 innings and 39 hits) Lifetine Vs. Colorado 8-2 4.57 Era (51 Er's in 100.1 innings) Nomo 1st Start: 7 Er's in 5.0 innings
Nomo since coming off injury so far: 1-5 9.00 Era with a 16/19 Walk-Stike Ration in 32.0 innings With Nomo, he needs his control to be effective. His 4.50 Walk per 9.0 innings shows that he's not in top form. 32 Er's in 32.0 innings would be the other, wa,wa,wa.
Taking the Over 7 (would buy the 1/2 run in this instance)
7.5 is a fairly low number to hang considering how these two starters are pitching. It is being played in an Under ballpark and LA pen has been tough. Neither pitcher has been sharp.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
best of luck today,

Parlaying: Houston (Oswalt) 197 Over St.Louis (Marquis) with San Antonio -165 Over Memphis
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parlaying: Cleveland (Sabathia)-154 Over Kansas City (Affeldt) with New York Yankees(Mussina)-153 Over Chicago White Soxs (Schoeneweis)
Then going the Over way with Chicago Whitesoxs (Schoeneweis) +140 Over New York Yankees (Mussina)
If one bets $10 on this Parlay, the profit would be +17.27 If both teams win. So if Cleveland indeed does win, one would wager the would be profits (+ $17.27) on Chicago at +140 If Chicago does win, the profit would be +24.17 minus -$10 from Parlay ticket for an Overall Profit of +14.17 on $10 This would be the conservative way to play this. .........................................................................................................................
As a straight Parlay, Cleveland (Sabathia)-154 Over Kansas City(Affeldt) with Chicago WhiteSoxs (Schoeneweis) +140 Over New York Yankees(Mussina)
This Parlay would pay +29.58 Profit on a $10 wager.
The conservative way pays less, but one's intial wager is return if Chicago losses. The other way, if Chicago loses, one loses $10. If Cleveland loses, both ways would lose the intial $10 wager.
thanks and good luck,

Would have taken Boston(Martinez)/Cleveland(Sabathia) Under 7.5 but Cleveland's bullpen has a 6.24 Era and those availible today a 10/63 Era the last 31.1 Thus making the 7.5 a mite more risky. Martinez 4-2 Quality Starts Martinez 10-1 with 1.66 Career vs. Cleveland Sabathia 4-0 Quality Starts Sabathia 1-1 with 2.40 Era vs. Boston
Boston hitting .272 the last 8 games (4.5 Runs) Cleveland .297 with .297 the last 5 games (5.6 Runs)
This should be a classic pitching duel. Have to lean towards Boston due to edge in Bullpen.
----------------------------------------------------------
Taking Anahiem(Sele)-169 Over TampaBay (Gonzalez)
Sele 7-1 with 4.43 Era vs. TampaBay Gonzalez 0-3 with 5.40 Era This Season
Bull pen edge to Angeles.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Taking Florida (Willis)-150 Over Los Angeles(Ishii)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Lean towards:
Seattle Atlanta/San Diego Over Chicago (Clements) -1.5 runs Over Arizona <small>[ May 06, 2004, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: bazanster2 ]</small>

As far as Picking Baseball Games Overall: 37-32
Currently Up +46.10 Dollars
----------------------------------------------------- Was Up + $666.70 Before going on 1-6 SU run (Friday went 0-5 Ouch) Will post a more detailed account at a later time. Generally I've found, it's harder to guage true form in the first month of the season. As the season develops, the statistics start to have more meaning and be more consistent. Bettors have a better idea of what to expect from hitters and pitchers. Trends and streaks are more defined and have greater authority. At this point, top pitchers will start to emerge has well as those struggling. Will place more emphasis on getting mismatches in terms of Right vs. Left. Home/Away abilities also start to become clearer.
Totals This Season So Far: Overs 8-0 Under 3-4 ---------- Overall 11-4
Favorites: 20-15 Favorite Runlines: 2-6 Dogs 4-7
Believe that this is an accurate account so far this season. Will be double checking later this week. Still early, have 81% of the Season Left. Should start to do better. Time will tell,
thanks,

Since both games won.
Assuming $100 per bet, would:
Hedge:
$80 on Kanas City at + 130 $ 70 on Cincinnati at +165
Will provide a complete review of this in tomorrow's post.
thanks and best of luck,

Adding this Parlay:
Cleveland(Sabathia)-141 Over Tampa Bay(Abbott) with (NBA) Indiana-241(Cashline) Over Detroit
then will hedge off with Detroit on the Cashline (currently at +215 @ Pinnacle)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Yesterday's Action:
Note: I incorrectly listed Minnesota as the favorite at -1.5 when in fact one could not have gotten that line. The Correct line was Minnesota @ +1.5
Going to Wager 600 on Los Angles Lakers -1.5 [-105] Available BetWWTS and WOS. <small>[ May 22, 2004, 01:21 AM: Message edited by: bazanster2 ]</small>

Parlaying the following games individually to (NBA) LosAngeles -2 Over Minnesota Will do a small hedge on Minnesota's cashline.
(1) Boston(Martinez)-1.5 {-125} Over Toronto(Lilly) (2) Houston (Clemens) -185 Over Cincinnati(Harang) or any other pitcher.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I made a mistake with the math in my last post concerning the Thursday's action. I also fail to mention to parlay all of Friday's games to Saturday's Detroit/Indiana game and then hedge. Have to work today, but will catch up tomorrow.
best of luck today,

No Play's Today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Results of plays and hedge from May 20th:
A Minnesota win would return a +662.80 profit + the 250 wagered on (Atl/Oak/SD-St.L) = 912.80 Total Return. Minus the -300 Lost on the Early wagers (Chicago,Houston and Boston) resulting in a profit of +362.80
Hedging 600 on Los Angles Lakers -1.5 {-105} would produce this result: Returns (.952 X 600 = 571.42 in profits + 600 Hedge Wager= 1171.452 Total Return
1171.42 Total Return - 550 Lost from earlier wagers(Chi/Hou/Bos/Atl/Oak/SD-St.Louis) and Laker 600 wager= +21.42 Overall Profit.
A Minnesota win: Would Return a total of 912.80 - 900 (300 Chi/Hou/Bos wagers} + 600 Laker wager) 912.80 - 900 = +12.80 Profit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's say that I wagered the would be profit's of +662.80 from the early parlay's on the Lakers-1.5(.952)
A Minnesota win: Returns 912.80 (250 wagerd + 662.80 profits - 912.80 (600 Laker wager + 300 lost (Chi/Hou/Bos) = -0- {Breaks even}
A Los Angeles Lakers win @ -1.5(.95.23): Returns the intial wager of 662.80 + 630.98 profit = 1293.78 Total returned 1293.78 - (662.80 + 550 Early Parlays- Chi/Hou/Bos/Atl/Oak/SD-St.Louis) = +80.98
Since I had a strong opinion on Los Angeles, I should have wagered 662.80 instead of the 600.
Overall profit for the day: +21.42
================================================================== ==================================================================
Overall Record So Far This Season:
33-27 Favorites 6-7 Underdogs 7-8 Runline 12-4 Overs 4-5 Unders ----------------- 62-51 Overall (+ 771.79)
Based on 100.00 bet per play. A half Unit + 50.00 per play. 1/4 Unit = 25.00 per play.
thanks,

Posting MLB picks early. Would parlay each pick individually to Wednesday's(NBA) Detorit on the Cashline(Not Posted yet) Then could hedge either on the cashline at + odds or the spread to create a potential middle. Will post prior to game time.
===============================================
1 Unit: Atlanta(Ramirez)/Montreal (Woo Kim) Under 8.5 [-120]
1/2 Unit each: Minnesota(Loshse)/TampaBay(Zambrano) Over 9.5 [-105] Atlanta(Ramirez)-152 Over Montreal(Woo Kim) SanFransico(Schmidt) -220 Over Arizona(Fossum)
All Parlayed individually to (NBA) Detroit on Cashline
Would wager as soon as (NBA)Indiana/Detroit on board. Line may more slightly against us. Would pass on Minn/TB at 10
================================================
Lean towards:
Philadephia Los Angeles SanDiego/Colorado Over 12
Would stay away from Texas/Chicago Under
good luck today,

The Cashline on Detroit Over Indiana around -210 Still can get 9.5 at WSEX on the Minnesota/TampaBay and 8.5 for the Atlanta game. For the most part, the lines moved moved in favor of Minn/TB Over and the Atlanta Under fell in most cases an entire Run which is a strong move.
good luck today,

Going to parlay: Los Angeles(Perez)-150 Over Milwaukee(Capuano) with (NBA) Los Angeles-371 Over Minnesota
If Parlay hits, will return +111.50 Profit
Then wil hedge on Minnesota with the Cashline @ +321. take +7.5 or perhaps higer and or a combination of both.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Note: Atlanta was NO ACTION yesterday due to the pitching change. I always List Both Starters.
To hedge yesterday's action: Just going to place 20 on Indiana @ +199
good luck today,

Parlaying following individually to (NBA)Indiana (-170) Over Detroit then hedging on Detroit either on the cashline or on the spread.
1 Unit: (1) Anaheim (Sele) -113 Over ChicagoWhiteSoxs(Rauch)
Parlay for 1/2 Unit: (2) Philadelphia (Padilla) -152 Over Atlanta(Thomson) with New York Yankees(Brown) -1.5 runs{-130} Over Tampa Bay (Hendrickson)
Note:If Philadelphia loses fist game, will Parlay: New York Yankees(Brown) -1.5 runs{-130} Over Tampa Bay (Hendrickson) with (NBA) Indiana -1-170 on the cashline, then hedging off.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hedging Friday's Plays: Placing 350 on Minnesota just prior to gametime. Have -2 on Los Angeles to win on tickets. Can currently get Minnesota at +2.5 (Intertops, Sportingbet) Hope that by waiting til 5 minutes before gametime that Minnesota +3 or better will be available.
If Lakers wins, will make +175.00 If Minnesota wins, will lose -81.80 If can get +3, have a small chance of a middle.

Parlaying the following individually to Los Angles(Ishii) -160 Over Arizona(Fossum) with (NBA) Los Angeles Lakers -412 Over Minnesota
1/2 Unit Each: (1) New York Yankees(Lieber)-174 Over TampaBay(Zambrano) (2) Boston(Schilling)-1.5 runs{-124} Over Seattle (Franklin) (3) Atlanta (Ramirez) +123 Over Philadelphia(Milton)

Will hedge off slightly on Arizona(Fossum) +155 (current odds) Over Los Angeles(Ishii) just prior to game time. How much will depend on earlier results. Will be hedging off on Minnesota at +7.5 {+116} as soon as Arizona/LosAngeles game is over. This will create a chance of a 7.5 middle.
-------------------------------------------------------------- Parlaying the following individually to (NBA) Los Angeles Lakers -412 Over Minnesota 1/2 Unit Each: (1) Chicago Whitesox's (Schoeneweis)-138 Over Anaheim(Lackey) (2) San Francisco (Schmidt)-194 Over Colorado(Kennedy)

What a day. Detroit and Baltimore Bullpens give up 7 runs in the 9th to blow the Under. The run pushing the game Over coming with 2 outs in the bottom of the inning. Then the next batter ends the game: 7-3 Baltimore (bad luck). Changed channels in disgust to a game I was actually winning. Boston enters the top of the 8th up 5-1, Schilling is cruising. ooophs...6 runs later it's 7-5 Seattle (some more bad luck). Fortunately, Boston scores 2 to tie it in the bottom of the inning to tie and McCarthy hits a walk off 2 run homer in the 12 to cover the runline the only way it could have been covered(good luck). Luck. Sometimes it better to be lucky than good. In Baltimore/Detroit 9th and Seattle/Boston 8th:
15 hits and 6 BB's (one IBB) and 15 Er's. A combined 33.75 Era.
Welcome to the Big Show.
=====================================================================
Hedging: 35 on Arizona @ +163 (Pinnacle)
Note: Atlanta and Cincinnati NO ACTION
Like my chances with LA.
=====================================================================
ChicagoWhiteSox's and San Francisco both won. Will hedge off later as the line appears to be moving higher. Currently -8.5 Los Angeles and +430 on the cashline. Cashline has jumped from Lakers -410 to -510. Sentiment is strongly in favor of the Lakers winning game 6.
Lakers 42-7(85.7%) at Home. (+9.9 point margin) Minnesota Away 29-19 at Away (+1.2 point margin)
Lakers 7-0 with +13.0 point margin @ Home during playoffs. Minnesota 2-5 with -8.7 point margin Away during the playoffs.
good luck tonight,

Parlaying the following to (NBA) Detroit -255 Over Indiana
1 Unit:
(1) Toronto (Halladay)-140 Over Seattle (Meche)
1/4 Unit Each:
(2) San Francisco (Hermanson)-140 Over Arizona(Sparks) (3) Florida (Penny)-188 Over Cincinnati (Harang)
(4) Cleveland (Sabathia)-1.na(Sheets)-115 Over Los Angeles(Weaver)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hedges for Yesterday and Today's Action:
50 on (NBA) Indiana +5.5...Lines have moved to +6.5 (BETCOM) and most books at +6
45 on (NBA) Indiana +229....Line moved to +260 (Pinnacle)
[b]Still would wait til late as reasonablly possible.
Note: Will wait til 5 mintues to end of betting this game to get best odds. Will post final odds. [/b]
Believe that Indiana without a completely healthy O'Neal will be hardpressed to defeat Detroit at Home. Piston's are 37-13 @ Home (64%).

Parlaying the following:

1/4 Unit:
(4) ChicagoWhiteSox's(Buehrle)+117 Over Oakland(Mulder) with Arizona(Johnson)-186 Over San Francisco(Tomko)

Parlaying the following to Atlanta(Thomson)-125 Over Philadelphia(Hancock or Any)
30 on:
(1) New York Yankees(Vazquez)-1.5runs {+105} runs Over Baltimore(Cabrera or Any)
20 on:
(2) Baltimore(Cabrera or Any)-1.5 runs{+258} Over New York Yankees(Vazquez)
15 of the last 20 meetings have been decided by 2 or more. The last 2 games have been decided by one run. Think that the odds are against 3 meetings in a row being decided by one run. Going to make a small wager and then hedge off with Philadelphia +115 or more just prior to the game.
=============================================================================
Yesterday, I forgot to type in
(3) Texas(Dickey) -1.5 runs(+160) Over Cleveland(Westbrook) "with New York Yankees(Contreras)-172 Over Baltimore(Dubose)"
I did it going the other way with Cleveland(Westbrook) -1.5 runs. The failure to do this was the difference between being Up +15.35 and being down -18.50 for the day. It's been a tough week with a lot of tough losses and some poor hedging on my part. Just going to have to shake it off and bear down.
Result so far for this Season:
+640.93 (would be +674.78 if one counted yesterday's Texas/NYY parlay)
Favorites: 42-35 Underdogs: 6-8 Runline: 7-8 Overs: 12-4 Unders: 4-5
Overall: 62-51
good luck today,
baz

1 Unit:
(1) St.Louis(Morris)-1.5 Runs{-109} Over Cincinnati(Bong) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/2 Unit: (2)St.Louis(Morris)/Cicinnati(Bong) Over 9.5 {-115} with New York Yankees(Contreras)/Los Angeles(Lima) Over 8.5 (would pass on 9) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three team parlay for 20:
(3) St.Louis(Morris)-215 Over Cicinnati(Bong) with Chicago Cubs(Zambrano)-139 Over Oakland(Zito) with New York Yankees(Contreras)/Los Angeles(Lima) Over 8.5 (would pass on 9)
Then will hedge off on the late game with a lean towards the Over(despite the good pens) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There a lot of reasons why I like St.Louis today. Bong is 0-2 allowing 8 Er's in 9.1 innings. 3 HR's and 13 runs. 7 BB's. Bong has a 5.60 Era Lifetime.
St.Louis has the hitting advantage Right vs. Left for the season, home away and the last 10. Cincinnati 260/256/249 St.Louis...281/306/303
Morris does have 7 Quality starts. He's 7-7 Overall. St.Louis is 8-2 their last 10. St.Louis is 6th in Hitting Overall St.Louis is 4th vs. Lefties St.Louis is 8-5 vs. Lefties St.Louis is averaging 9.3 runs and 303 vs. Lefties their last 10. St.Louis Bull Pen has allowed 7 Er's the last 25.2
Cincinnati is 3-7 their last 10 and 4-9 their last 13. Cincinnati 10-13 vs. Righties Away Cincinnati 21st vs. Righies with .259 Cincinnati Bull Pen has allowed 28 Er's the last 26.2
Lean towards the Over 9.5 For one, Cincinnati is on a 11-3 Over Run. Cincinnati the last 8 games has allowed an average of 9.6 runs. Bong two games averaged 12.5 Morris games average 10.5 and 12 the last 3.
Have edges across the board(Starter,Hitting,Pen) If it keeps form shouldn't be close. Am counting on St.Louis to get to Bong because their tough vs.Lefties and are facing a struggling bull pen.
Wagering the Over on the thinking that if St.Louis does lose, then it will be because Cincinnati got to Morris rather than Bong having a great game. Something that possible, but not that probable considering how well the Cardinals are hitting Lefties.
Still no game is written in stone. Anything can and does happen. As yesterday's Oakland/Chicago demonstrated. The Cubs scoring 2 in the bottom of the 9th to defeat Oakland and the Under bettors. -------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday after going 1-2 on the first 3 Parlay's, felt confident enough in San Diego to let the NY Yankee parlay ride. That off set the lose a bit. In fact, the profit was +38.82 meaning just a -1.18 lost on the first 3 parlays. Unfortunately, Willis, Radke and Clemens all lost. All 3 have generally been pitching well. Since I've been struggling a bit, am playing somewhat close to the vest and making small wagers til things start to go better. So even those 3 losses amount to just sligthly Over a 1/2 Unit. Not too big a hit.
Have only met one person who seem to like to lose or at least didn't seem to mind. Have yet to meet any that liked losing money.
"You haven't met people til you lose them their money."
Sports betting is a tough gig. Baseball is a streaky affair. A bettor has to be patient and use good money management to weather bad times. I always take a wait and see attitude. You just never know what's going to happen in baseball. But there are strong tendencies and teams, pitchers and hitters get hot and cold.
This season started out with a large number of inexperience starting catchers. It seems like a lot of bull pens are blowing leads more often than usual. Wonder if there's any correlation? Bettors that tend to rely on Starter matchups primarily may be suffering more losses than usual.
Will just keep plugging away and see how the chips fell when the dust has settled.
good luck today,

Cisco,
I had calculated my win/loss record just before going off line last month. I just have to find the paper I wrote down the results on. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> I am currently +286.36 for the Season.
This based on $100 = 1 Unit. So I'm only up +2.86 Units.
Bascially I believe that one's bankroll should be divided by 40 or 2.5% per Bet(Unit) in order to withstand the inevitable slumps that occur.
I'll be posting more later this week.
best of luck wagering this season,
baz <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Hedge from Thursday's Action:
150 on Atlanta-1 Over Minnesota
Generally, most baseball wagers should be with "Listed Pitchers", expect in the time of a Time Hedge. The later games shouldn't be listed Pitchers, because the ticket needs to able to hedge off on. If they change pitchers, then it's considered "No Action" and in today's case, the early games split. With "No Action" there would be a -$10.29 loss. However, by not "Listing" Pitchers, the games are automaticaly parlayed to whomever happens to be pitching. For better or worse Odds and or Pitchers.
(1) St.Louis/Pittsburgh Over {LOSS} -25.00 (2) St.Louis(Haren) -170 Over Pittsburgh(Fogg) {WON} with Seattle(Villone)/Detroit(Robertson) Over 8.5{-116}
The second parlay would win +$48.93 if Seattle wins, for a total return of $73.93 The line as moved from it's Open @ -116 Over 8.5 to -120 Under 9.
Would Hedge 1/4 Unit: Seattle(Villone)/Detroit(Robertson) Under 9{-120)
good luck,
baz

Parlaying the following individually to Boston(Lowe or Any)-101 Over Chicago(Garcia or Any):
1/10 Unit Each: (1) Seattle(Meche)/Detroit(Maroth) Over 9 {-110} (2) New York Yankees(Brown)-157 Over Anaheim(Escobar)
1/4 Unit Each: (3) St.Louis(Morris)-1.5 Runs(???) Over Pittsburgh(Vogelsong) (4) Oakland(Redman)-129 Over TampaBay(Bazelton) (5) Oakland(Redman)/TampaBay(Brazelton) Under 9.5{-129}
3/10 Unit: (6) Florida(Pavano)-125 Over San Diego(Hitchcock)[/B]
Will no doubt be hedging at some point during the day. At least 1 Hour Prior to Boston/Chicago WhiteSox's game.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Comments:
Boston is hitting .325 the last 10 and Chicago .245 Lowe hasn't pitched well away and Gacia hasn't done well at night.
Yankees are tough to sweep, but Angels have realistic chance of doing so. Small wager on Brown to have a good outing to prevent the sweep.
Hitchcock is just off the DL and hasn't pitched all that well(12 Er's in 17.1 innings) Pavano beat SD 3-1 earlier in the year and has 7 Quality Starts his last 10.
St.Louis defeated Vogelsong 8-1 and 6-3 so far this season. St.Louis hitting .295 vs. Righties the Last 10, compared to Pittsburgh's .237
good luck today,
baz
