I am thinking about running a baseball mutual fund. We would simply invest the funds in baseball games.

I would like to see how many would be interested in joining.

If there is only a few serious people, we could put in a fair amount and do some damage.

I would say minimum to get in should be $100, and each share be worth $50.

I am serious about doing this, and do quite well in baseball. So with that in mind, if your serious about joining in, let yourself be heard.

The simple way to explain it is that the fund is run mutual fund style. Everyone that invests has an interest in the outcome of the investments.

For example if we had $1000 and 20 shares, then we would start at $50 each. When the fund reaches $1500 those 20 shares have a $75 value attached to it. If it would go to $500 then the shares would be worth $25.

There is no guarantee that we would win, but all you can lose is what you put into it. Everyone involved would know the investments before they started and would have a daily update on where things stood.

I hope that covers it in more detail. The rest gets ironed out once we get people that join.

Cool, I'm in...I might have some others in as well who don't post on here. Let me know when its set up and what the buy in per share would be. So, you would pick like one play each day, have us vote on it or what? I like the idea of 'power of numbers'.

Have you done something like this before? Just curious how it worked out. Sorry for asking so many questions, just sounds like a cool idea.

Yes I have run this before. Last year was the first time in 5 years I didn't run one for football. Probably due to the fact it went bust the prior year. Figures we had a great season.

As for how the games are picked if it is a tight knit group, then we can talk about games to look at and decide from there.

The object is to get a few accounts going at different books, so we get different #'s to play.

I can't say how much we should start with, it would all depend on how many got involved.

Anyone out there? We going to set this thing up or what? I like the idea of it, now we just need some people to get together and make it work.

First, where do our money go in the first place? We send it to you and you open new account(s) from different sportsbooks?

I am going to give this til Sunday of this week.

Once that time period is up, I will announce the start of the fund, those that want in will have til Wednesday of the following week to contact me, and then once all the funds are in, we get underway and go skyhigh or go bust.

As simple as it gets. I also plan on having a thread in the forum, that will be for members of the club only. It will be locked and only accessed by password.

This way we can interact during the day and come up with something or nothing at all.
