Dean Smith the legendary Hall of Fame coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels passed away Saturday night at the age of 83.

Two National Championships, eleven trips to the final four and thirteen ACC tournament titles to go along with 870 career wins.

This man exuded class. He taught young men how to become adults and do things the right way. Team first, always and forever.

I became a fan of the Tarheels back in the 80's mainly because of Dean Smith and the way he handled his teams and not to mention their success. I am still a Tar Heel fan today. I am deeply saddened by the loss of not only a great coach but a great man.

Life lessons learned from a afar that I still put to use daily.

Thanks Coach, you'll always be #1 in my book.

Stop sitting on the sidelines and be a part of the action!
