Belmont, Delaware cancel Wednesday cards

ELMONT, N.Y. - Due to excessive heat, Belmont Park has canceled its scheduled nine-race live racing program for Wednesday.

The facility will be open for simulcasting, and NYRA Rewards telebet and Internet wagering will be available.

A heat wave has broiled the New York metropolitan area since Sunday, and 100-degree temperatures were expected to continue through mid-week before moderating.

This is the seventh weather-related cancellation of the year. on the New York Racing Association circuit. The first six all occurred at the Aqueduct inner-track meet, the last one coming on March 13.

* Delaware Park canceled after the second race Tuesday and also called off its races on Wednesday due to the heat.

5th Penn National—(Post 5:08)—We liked the 7th to 1st run of Dalliance( 1) to win dropping in class last time. Outrun early he was well back moving to the top. Dalliance rallied in lane three under right-handed prompting to prove best in the late going. Dalliance(1) is worth playing despite the unknown factor of whether this John Servis-trainee had anything chasing him to the wire last time.

RACE #2: #2 WORTHY INTENTIONS, a 15-1 BOMB, takes a class drop (-13), and has nice overall speed for this mile test on the turf.

PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS
RACE #7: #2 DARKEST HOUR, a 6-1 shot, and has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in three of her last five starts, including a "POWER RUN WIN" in her 5th race back.
