Chicago has been on a terrible slump because of injuries. Making matters worse is that this is a terrible situational handicapping spot, playing their third game in four nights. They had to play at home last night against the mighty Cavaliers, and now head out on the road. Philadelphia plays its best basketball at home and is in a less demanding spot, playing at NY last night. This is a good spot to have depth and go to your bench to at least rest some starters, but the Bulls hve been shorthanded all week. An excellent spot for the home team to run away with it in the second half against the tired visitors. Play the 76ers.

Washington –1½ over New Mexico

This whole “Pac 10 is terrible” was hogwash from the very beginning and the proof is that a #11 seed is currently favored over the #3 seed. That hasn’t happened in ages and it’s a sign that this Washington Huskies team is for real. They stormed back from a 15-point, second half deficit to defeat Marquette in a game they were were not favored in and did so despite allowing Marquette to shoot 63% from three point land. Washington’s Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas both came up huge at the end of the game and have a real shot at the Elite-Eight if they play to their capabilities today. Don’t be fooled by the “3” next to New Mexico. They played a very pedestrian Montana team close, not a big surprise considering New Mexico played one high pressure game all season and promptly lost it in their conference tournament. They got a very favorable seed that they had no business getting and they’re about to play their second big game of the season. That’s a big problem and one they could have addressed if they had played a semi-respectable non conference schedule. Instead, the Lobos chose to pile up 14 wins while playing exactly 4 road games, one of which they lost to non tournament team Oral Roberts. This team is nowhere near ready to play in a game of this magnitude and that’s before I tell you about the matchup problem this Husky team poses to the Lobos. You see, despite playing a weak schedule, the Lobos allowed opponents to shoot close to 50% on inside shots and finished 5th in the Mountain West Conference in defensive efficiency. That simply isn’t and won’t be good enough to stop the fast paced Washington offense that has averaged 80 points a game over their last four must win contests. The Huskies also shot 50% from two during the regular season and converted 72.7% of their free throws. The bottom line is that the Lobos aren’t prepared for this game simply because they’ve never been in this situation before. Look for the Huskies to jump on them early and continue their “Cinderella” run. Play: Washington –1½ (Risking 2.2 units to win 2).

Toronto Raptors at New Jersey Nets

The Raptors escaped with a last-second win over the Hawks on Wednesday but make no mistake; this is still a team in complete disarray.

Jay Triano’s coaching tactics are being questioned, Chris Bosh has called out his team on numerous occasions and Jarrett Jack is disgruntled after his removal from the starting lineup.

Last week following a loss Triano called his team’s play selfish but Jack wasn’t seeing eye-to-eye with his coach.

"I don't think guys were selfish. Obviously we encourage people to take shots when they think they have 'em," Jack said. "Maybe coach can elaborate on it if that's what he saw. I didn't see it that way."

The win over Atlanta was Toronto’s second in its last 12 games. The Raps were humiliated at home by the Thunder on Friday night and are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games.

As long as Devin Harris is back in the lineup on Saturday, the Nets should get the victory.

Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies

Forget about the Bucks, the Warriors are the Association’s cash cow right now.

Heading into Friday’s game, Golden State had covered the spread in five straight and was 8-2 ATS over its last 10 games.

Despite being plagued by a myriad of injuries that forces G-State to play a fistful of D-leaguers, the Warriors have been one of the most profitable teams in 2010, going 23-13 ATS.

One concern going into this game is the health of rookie guard Stephen Curry. Curry sprained his left ankle in the team’s last game but traveled with the club for its two-game road trip. He did not suit up in Friday’s matchup against the Spurs.

There isn’t a line on this game because of Curry’s injury but it should be close to double digits regardless. The Warriors are 10-3 ATS this season when double-digit underdogs.

Ottawa Senators at Dallas Stars (-120, 5.5)

The Senators are mired in a four-game slide and have lost seven of eight games since the Olympic break.

Ottawa’s top-five scorers have combined for a single goal during the losing streak and the team has scored a total of five goals in that same span.

"We still need our top six or seven forwards to be more offensive. Our third and fourth lines are the guys that scored two of the three goals," coach Cory Clouston said. "We had a lot of chances (in the Atlanta game) but we had the same results. We're not scoring on the chances."

Kari Lehtonen will be under the net for the Stars on Saturday and will try to extend the Sens’ offensive woes. Dallas’ backup goalie has surrendered six goals in his last three games and boasts a career 2.79 goals-against average versus Ottawa.

The Senators could be down one offensive threat if Milan Michalek is unable to play on Saturday. He is listed as questionable with a leg injury.

St. Louis Blues at New Jersey Devils (-165, 5.5)

The Devils might as well not even attempt to draw penalties because the one-man advantage opportunity has produced zero goals in the last five games (0-14).

"We don't build any confidence with our power play," coach Jacques Lemaire said. "When it's time to skate, they don't skate. They shoot the puck in, nobody goes and gets the puck."

The power-play struggles has Jersey averaging less than three goals per game during its last five.

The Blues are attempting to make another late season run and squeeze into the playoff picture. St. Louis has won eight of 11 with five road victories in that stretch.
