1* Syracuse -3.5 (1st half) over Butler (7pm) - Simply put Syracuse is an outstanding 1st half team and Butler has been the master of adjustments and done all their damage in the 2nd half. I look for Syracuse to continue this trend and put Butler in an 8-10 pt hole and then force the Bulldogs to climb out of it. I think the Orange are just too big for Butler here.
1* Washington +4.5 over W. Virginia (7:20 pm) - This game comes down to tempo and Washington has been controlling it masterfully during their 9 game win streak. they are playing with a chip on their shoulder and it shows. All they have been hearing is that they don't belong and getting an 11 seed as a BCS conf champ is a joke. W. Virginia lost back up PG and Key defensive player Bryant. This will hurt them as it means others will have to play more minutes. W. VA relies on rotating players in and out to keep defensive pressure up. Not sure they can apply pressure for 40 minutes tonight.

3*** Calgary (-140) over NY Islanders This is a wonderful match up. We have Calgary racing for a playoff spot so they are in a must win situation. On the other hand, we have the Islanders who just got shut out and now are out of playoff contention. "We have to find a way every night," Flames center Craig Conroy said Wednesday. They have been doing a good job at it as they are 7-3 in their last 10 overall. NY Islanders are 6-16 in their last 22 overall. The road team in this match up has won 7 times in the last 9 meetings. Also, Calgary is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings but have not met since Jan. 09 where they won 5-2. Take Calgary

You really have to like the way the Bulldogs have been just that to get into the sweet 16. They are very well coached who will definitely have them prepared. Looking at current power ratings there's not a team anywhere that's still alive that should be giving this team 6 points on a neutral floor. I mean not even if Kansas were still alive. . Now we are getting this many points?? Butler will always get good shots and Syracuse will turn it over enough to give Butler the extra possessions that they need.

Xavier has really impressed me and the Musketeers are not going to get buried here but with that said the Kansas State guards are just going to be too good in the end.
Frank Martin very possibly may have the best backcourt in the entire country. Jacob Pullen is insanely great and Denis Clemente is a total stud himself. Throw in some quality bigs like Luis Colon and the young and talented Wally Judge and the Wildcats are a dangerous dangerous team for anybody to have to face right now.
I love how relentless Martin's boys are. They just do not stop coming at you. Falling behind 10-0 in that last game to BYU was almost meaningless as they just kept coming in waves and outclassed Jimmer Fredette and a pretty darn solid and experienced Cougar group with relative ease.
In Early December the Wildcats and Musketeers played and it was State that won going away 71-56. I don't take too much from that as that was then and this is now but looking back at the outer conference schedule and one can't help but be impressed with the way the 'Cats easily dispatched solid squads. Besides the win against the X-Men they pounded Dayton, UNLV and Alabama among others and in-conference had no issues at all on the road winning the bulk of their games in total burial fashion.
Xavier is a well coached and very solid team. They rarely get blown out and shouldn't here but K State is too good with their guards and after 40 minutes of hoopage will win this thing by about 10-12 points.
