Saturday Daytime College Opinions
Boston College (+7 1/2) over GEORGIA TECH
Rotation #527 - 9 am Pacific
Boston College is coming off consecutive wins over North Carolina and Virginia Tech and the Eagles apply to a very good 63-16-2 ATS road underdog momentum situation. My ratings favor Georgia Tech by 8 points, so the line is pretty fair. I'll lean with the Eagles plus the points based on the situation.
TENNESSEE (+2 1/2) over Kentucky
Rotation #532 - 9 am Pacific
Tennessee hasn't played well lately (5-5 straight up and 2-8 ATS), but the Volunteers have a long history of success as a home underdog (18-4 ATS) and they're 3-0 straight up as a home underdog under coach Bruce Pearl. That includes a 76-68 upset win over #1 Kansas shortly after losing Tyler Smith to a season suspension. Tennessee also applies to a 42-13-3 ATS subset of a 177-97-12 ATS late season home underdog revenge situation. My ratings favor Kentucky by 2 1/2 points, so the line is fair, and I'll lean with the Vols plus the points.
COLORADO (-4) over Iowa State
Rotation #540 - 10:30 am Pacific
Colorado is 11-3 straight up at home and their only home losses were against very good teams Kansas, Kansas State, and Missouri. The Buffaloes beat Oklahoma by 10 points, Nebraska by 12 points, and Baylor by 7 points in their other conference home games this season and the Buffs are 32-15-1 ATS in conference games under coach Jeff Bzdelik. Iowa State is just 3-8 ATS since losing sharp shooter Lucca Staiger (42.5% 3-pointers) to a European professional league and the Cyclones don't usually play well away from home in Big 12 play. In fact, Iowa State is just 3-30 straight up against Big 12 opponents away from home under coach Greg McDermott and the Cyclones are just 2-13 ATS in their last 15 such games when not getting more than 12 points. My ratings favor Colorado by 5 1/2 points and I'll lean with the Buffaloes at -4 or less and I'd take Colorado in a 2-Star Best Bet at -3 or less.
UTAH (-14 1/2) over Wyoming
Rotation #602 - 3 pm Pacific
Wyoming has dropped 7 consecutive games straight up and to the spread, which coincides with the absence of defensive ace A.J. Davis and the season ending injury to leading scorer Afam Muojeke. Utah, meanwhile, is better in the games that Jay Watkins has played and my ratings favor the Utes by 17 points. I'll lean with the Utes at -15 or -14 1/2 and I'd take Utah in a 2-Star Best Bet at -14 points or less.
