Sunday's $150,000 Honeymoon H. (G2) at Hollywood Park for three-year-old fillies appears a wide-open affair on paper. Six of the nine entrants are exiting the Senorita S. (G3), though the closest any of them got to winning that race was CANDILEJAS (Candy Ride [Arg]), who fell 2 1/2 lengths short in a runner-up effort. With no standout, we'll take a stab with DAYLUMNEY (Ire) (Daylami [Ire]), who returns to the turf for the first time since August.

By a sire who was a champion in three countries, and out of a Group 3 winner, Daylumney has always had the genes to be any kind on grass. A half-sister has already won at the Group 3 level, but this miss turned in modest efforts in maiden events at low-level tracks in Ireland and England before switching to an all-weather surface at Wolverhampton. The switch appeared to help, but it could also be argued she was improving at the right time anyway.

After breaking her maiden in her fourth career start, Daylumney was imported to the United States, debuting for Carla Gaines on May 17 over the Hollywood Cushion Track. She was favored, but made up only a modest bit of ground to finish fourth of five. We expect her to be sharper in her second stateside appearance and the return to turf is probably a smart move given her family tree.

Candilejas ran a solid race in the Senorita, which was her turf debut. She will not offer anything near 37-1 this time, but seems to have found her calling on grass after an ineffective stakes career on synthetics.

ACTING LADY (Theatrical [Ire]), who upset the Providencia S. (G2) at 20-1 two back, flattened out after threatening for the lead in the stretch of the Senorita. A bounce like that is not uncommon for her, however, and she's been a consistent player at this level for most of this season.

PRIDE DANCER (Ire) (Fasliyev) flopped in her U.S. debut, but did much better when rallying for third in the Senorita. The Bobby Frankel-trained miss should be flying late under Joe Talamo. CENTURY PARK (General Meeting) did not have the best of trips in the Senorita, but we still question whether she's good enough to contend at this level. Another who encountered difficulty in that race was DASH DOT DASH (Put It Back), but does a filly who lost a Turf Paradise stakes as the favorite break through in graded company at Hollywood?

WELL MONIED (Maria's Mon) makes her stakes debut here after taking her last two on grass. She probably deserved the right to step up here, hails from the hot Howard Zucker barn, and she'll be doing her best running late on Joel Rosario. Potential underlay, though. MAID FOR MUSIC (Ire) (Dubai Destination) recently captured the Golden Poppy S. at Golden Gate Fields, but if she were this good why did trainer Jim Cassidy run her for a $50,000 tag in her American debut two back? LEXLENOS (Ire) (Intikhab) ran as well as could have been expected in the Senorita after flourishing on the all-weather in England previously. We doubt she will move up considerably this time.
