MARLINS PROBABLE STARTER: Brad Penny (4-4, 3.74 ERA). Penny entered Sunday's game against Anaheim with a 2-0 mark with a 1.42 ERA in his previous three starts. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up four earned and eight hits in 4 2-3 innings, his shortest outing this season, in an 8-5 loss. He has 21 strikeouts over his last four starts, spanning 23 2-3 innings.
RANGERS PROBABLE STARTER: Tony Mounce (no record). Mounce makes his major league debut after being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma. The 28-year-old left-hander was 7-3 with a 2.55 ERA in 12 minor appearances this season. Mounce, signed as a free agent with the Rangers on May 1, 2000, but missed all of the 2001 season after having Tommy John surgery.
